On February 6th, a turf trial over 1000m at Conghua saw the horse stumble at the start but recovered well to finish with a strong late kick. On December 12th, another turf trial over 1000m at Conghua showed a slow start and settled in mid-division with little change of pace. Two months ago, the horse ran poorly over 1400m at Sha Tin, jumping slowly and settling towards the rear with an even tempo but failing to accelerate. The horse has had a short break and completed two barrier trials without reaching peak fitness. A significant weight loss of thirty-eight pounds was recorded ahead of its first attempt in a straight course race. This time, no additional weight will be carried and it draws a favorable barrier; the anticipated tactic is to settle towards the rear relying on a strong finishing kick. Lyle Hewitsin takes the ride, having some familiarity with the horse’s capabilities. Despite the distance being unsuitable and an unfavorable track condition, trainer-jockey communication appears limited.
