LEADING DRAGON

In a dirt trial over 1200m on August 25th, the horse settled up front and showed continued improvement. Coming out at the start of the season, he performed brilliantly in a 1200m Sha Tin trial two months ago, showing good acceleration and finishing as the runner-up. He was narrowly beaten by three and a half lengths. A recent trial showed slight improvement. Switching to Happy Valley over 1200m for the first time, he carries an 11-pound allowance this race. The conditions seem suitable, and he has the ability to quicken in a run. Morning workouts still show promise; although his time figures, finishing kick, and partnership with the jockey/trainer have not been outstanding, he is anticipated to be used as a supporting contender in this race.
