On 28/8, in a dirt trial over 1200m (4-3-2), the horse advanced nicely and showed veteran stamina. This was an early start to the season; two months ago in a comparable race, his performance was subpar. He settled well close to the leaders with an even pace throughout, showing average form and fortunately did not carry much more weight, finishing only two and a half lengths behind. He showed slight improvement in the recent trial. The current circumstances do not look favorable; his late run was slightly lacking, and there isn't a particularly strong connection between the jockey and trainer. Given that he has won twice in this course/distance before and benefits from favorable draws, he is not the selection for this race.
