GOOD LUCK HAPPY

On 30/8, in a turf barrier trial over 1000m (running position: 2-2-9), the horse tracked near the leaders for two sections but faded in the final section. This is his first outing this season; two months ago, in a similar race, he performed reasonably well, settling back and running strongly. Fortunately, the weight carried wasn't too much, and he was only beaten three and a half lengths. After a trial run, the horse did not show much improvement in fitness/condition. Having failed in all five starts this season, his current form does not show good alignment; the closing speed is slightly lacking, and there is no outstanding synergy between jockey and trainer. The horse should be lightly regarded as a contender.
