PARENTS' LOVE

On August 30th, the horse ran a turf barrier trial over 1000m (1-1-2), breaking well but being overtaken at the finish. In its early season outing, it performed impressively two months ago in a race with this field, showing good scope and finishing runner-up. Fortunately, the margin was small, losing only two and a half lengths. A recent trial showed slight improvement. This time in the race, it carries two pounds less weight; having won three of twenty-two starts over this trip, its group timing is acceptable. The tactical setup and draw are favorable; its early speed is enough to fight for position proactively. Its recent form has been solid, and even if the closing speed is slightly lacking or there isn't a standout partnership between jockey and trainer, it should not be dismissed.
