(4/9 Sha Tin turf trial 1200m: 2-2-2) tracked the leaders closely. This is his first run of the season; two months ago, he ran over 1600m on Sha Tin turf and performed reasonably well. He tracked the leaders from a good position, and thankfully did not carry much weight, only finishing three and a half lengths behind. He has shown slight improvement in his recent trial run. Now, he is stepping up to a Happy Valley mile for this race and is running the distance for the first time. He faces an extra 12 pounds in weight this time, and his finishing kick hasn't stood out. The jockey/trainer combination is not ideal, but he manages to track the leaders from a good position and his sectional times are acceptable; so, some underperformance is understandable.
