1/9 (Dirt trial 1200m: 8-8-7) took a wide turn and struggled to catch up. This is an early run this season; two months ago, he ran a lackluster race over 1600m on Sha Tin turf. He was slow to jump out, ran from the rear, and maintained a steady pace throughout with an unremarkable run. A recent trial showed no promising signs. Running this race at Happy Valley over a mile, he will carry an extra 13 pounds; the circumstances do not seem to favor him. His late burst was slightly inferior, and the jockey-trainer pairing is not particularly harmonious. However, given his past performance record and favourable draw, he could be a contender for an upset.
