On 3/9, the horse ran a dirt trial over 1200m (running positions: 3-3-3), positioning himself near the front with a vigorous stride. This is his first start of the season; two months ago, he ran on Sha Tin turf over 1600m and performed reasonably well, maintaining a good position tracking the leaders with sustained momentum on the straight. Fortunately, he wasn't heavily weighted and finished only two lengths behind. A recent trial showed slight improvement. In this race, he is running on Happy Valley turf over a mile and must carry an extra seven pounds. His closing speed was slightly inferior, but given his ability to quicken and his past performance over this trip, it is not seen as a calculated gamble.
