MIDORI GIANT

On April 8th, the horse completed a turf trial over 1600m in sections of 8-7-7-3, moving smoothly around the second bend and showing good initiative. Three weeks prior, it ran respectably over a Sha Tin 1800m race, jumping moderately but settling towards the rear before making a strong move through the middle stages and maintaining a good finish. A subsequent barrier trial showed slight improvement. Now debuting at Happy Valley over a longer distance, the horse will carry an additional 20 pounds this time. The distance appears suitable, it has drawn a favorable barrier, and is expected to race from behind utilizing its strong finishing kick – arguably the best in its class. Despite the competition, it remains a formidable contender.
