Seven days ago, this horse ran a respectable race over 1800m at Happy Valley, jumping slowly and settling towards the rear with a steady pace before making a late run. He finished fifth, beaten by one and a half lengths. Racing again within two weeks, switching to a longer distance at Happy Valley for the first time, he will carry a two-pound weight reduction but the distance is not ideal. A hold-up tactics are expected, however, his finishing kick may not be strong enough against rivals. Trainer and jockey don't seem to be a good fit; despite drawing a favorable barrier, Matthew Poon takes the ride knowing the horse’s limitations – it’s best to observe one more race before making a judgement.
