THE AUSPICIOUS

Three weeks ago, this horse ran below expectations over a Sha Tin 1600m race, jumping slowly and settling towards the rear. It made a mid-race move, accelerating in the final two sections while being urged by the jockey. In a subsequent trial over Sha Tin 1400m, it will carry three pounds less this time, having shown previous form at this distance. The horse recorded good times against its competition and is expected to race from behind with a strong finishing kick. Its current condition is improving, and appears capable of holding its own.
