Three weeks ago, in a race over the same distance, the performance was unsatisfactory; slow out of the gate and settled towards the rear. Showed some effort mid-race but faded quickly. This time carrying 10 pounds less weight, it has failed to win in five attempts at this distance and lacks a strong finishing kick, making its chances appear slim despite an advantageous barrier draw and potentially similar sectionals as other horses in the field; even with a good position, there's little indication of success.
