Last run winner, four weeks ago over the same distance, performed well settling in a good position tracking the leaders. Showed a strong acceleration through the middle stages and two sections, with Last Ace chasing him down to win by one and a half lengths. Stepping up in class this time with a 14-pound weight reduction, he has previous form over this course and distance and recorded the fastest time amongst his group. Able to settle well tracking the leaders, based on the horse’s ability, he is the most outstanding contender in this race. The trainer and jockey have good synergy, showing consistent improvement in morning trackwork. Despite drawing a poor barrier and potentially lacking a strong finishing kick, his chances of defending his title remain high.
