Two weeks ago, over a Sha Tin 1600m turf course, the horse performed respectably. It was slow to jump and settled towards the back of the field, launching a strong two-section burst in the middle stages, finishing with a good effort. Beaten by one and a half lengths for sixth place. Now stepping up to Happy Valley over a mile this time carrying an additional pound, despite drawing a favorable barrier, it will likely settle back again. The finishing kick is promising but the trainer/jockey combination feels less confident and the distance isn’t ideal; expect a trailing run.
