NEARLY FINE

Two weeks ago, this horse performed satisfactorily over a Sha Tin 1400m race, jumping slowly and settling towards the rear. It made a mid-race move, attempting to close on the leaders. Returning to Happy Valley over a mile for this race with a one-pound weight reduction, the sectionals weren't impressive and drawing a poor barrier forces a hold-up tactic. Despite having two previous wins at this distance, its finishing kick was insufficient against the competition, making it an unfavorable prospect.
