Six weeks ago, this horse ran poorly over a Sha Tin 1800m turf course, settling in a good position tracking the leaders before fading in the middle stages. A recent barrier trial showed adequate performance. Another turf trial over 1600m at Conghua saw him finish second and third section (2-2-3), maintaining a steady pace while racing prominently. This time he carries no additional weight but has drawn an outside barrier, requiring a hold-up tactic. However, his finishing kick is unlikely to be strong enough to beat the opposition, and despite a close trial time compared to other horses in the same group, there was little improvement observed during gate work.
