RELIABLE DAD

On February 6th, a turf trial over 1200m at Conghua saw the horse settling mid-pack with an unremarkable performance. Four weeks ago, in a Sha Tin mile race, it ran well despite a slow start and trailing pace, finishing fourth with a strong late surge but beaten by one and a half lengths. A recent barrier trial showed no obvious improvement. Now stepping up to 1400m at Sha tin for the first time, this horse benefits from a 1lb weight reduction and draws an inside barrier, favouring a hold-up tactic. It possesses the strongest finishing kick in the field and has a good draw. Karis Teetan takes the ride, understanding the horse’s capabilities, however trainer-jockey synergy is lacking; hoping for a place.
