On 19/9, he ran a Happy Valley turf trial over 1700m (6-5-5-4), showing a quiet straight run and an eye-catching gait. This was his first run this season; three months ago, he performed notably well over 1800m on Happy Valley turf. Although his break was slow, he tracked the pace from behind with an average tempo throughout, recovering some ground in the final stages to secure second place, beaten only three lengths. His recent trial performance was not outstanding. Running in a race after work commitments, he switched to Sha Tin turf over 1800m for the first time at this distance. He will carry an extra seven pounds this time, and the course doesn't suit him well; his closing speed was slightly inferior. The jockey-trainer combination wasn't ideal, but he can hold a favorable forward position and the group pace is acceptable, suggesting potential for an upset.
