HAPPY TANGO

Two weeks ago, this horse ran poorly over a Happy Valley sprint, settling in a good position tracking the leaders with a steady pace but lacking a finishing surge. He finished seventh, beaten three and a half lengths. He will now trial on Sha Tin turf over 1400m this time with a five-pound weight reduction. The trial times were reasonable, and he has potential to lead early. Drawing an inside barrier provides a favourable position. Ellis Wong takes the ride, gaining some understanding of the horse's capabilities. Despite three previous defeats at this distance, his finishing kick is weak and the trainer-jockey combination hasn’t been successful. However, with a clean break, he should be able to secure a forward position.
