THE CONCENTRATION

Five weeks ago, this horse ran a respectable race over Sha Tin’s 1200m turf track, with a slow jump and settling towards the rear. He showed a strong late run, finishing three lengths behind the winner in fifth place. On debut on dirt over 1200m, he benefits from a two-pound weight reduction this time but the distance is not ideal. An outside barrier draw isn’t favorable, and trainer-jockey combination isn't considered strong. Despite needing to settle back, his finishing kick remains impressive for the group. Jerry Chau takes the ride, forming a potentially good partnership, and this run should be viewed as a trial.
