Six weeks ago, this horse completed a dirt trial over 1200m in times of 3-3-6, tracking the leaders but showing only moderate performance in the final two sections. Seven weeks prior, it ran poorly over a Happy Valley mile, slow out of the gate and settling at the rear before making a mid-race move but failing to close the gap. Having had one barrier trial, its preparation is still incomplete. Making its debut on dirt over 1200m this time with a two-pound weight reduction, the distance should suit; a hold-up strategy is expected, and it possesses the strongest finishing kick in the field – an outside chance.
