CAMP FIRE

On June 30th (dirt trial 1200m: 1-1-2), the horse showed a fast pace in second position with an easy demeanor. Seven weeks ago, over a Happy Valley 1200m, the performance was poor; a slow jump led to settling at the back of the field with a steady pace and no finishing kick, resulting in a significant defeat. One barrier trial has shown slight improvement. This will be its debut on Sha Tin turf over 1400m. It carries a two-pound weight reduction this time but the distance increase may not suit it. Drawing an unfavorable outside barrier and with a trainer/jockey combination that doesn’t appear to be a strong fit, even if capable of tracking the pace setters, its finishing kick is among the strongest in the group.
