On June 27th, a turf trial over 1200m at Conghua saw the horse settling in midfield and finishing without enthusiasm. Five weeks ago, over the same distance, it showed reasonable form, jumping slowly and settling towards the rear but running on well. It was beaten three lengths, finishing eighth. One recent barrier trial did not reveal significant improvement. This time with a one-pound weight reduction, despite four previous defeats over this course and distance, and drawing an outside barrier, a hold-up tactic is expected. However, its finishing kick is unlikely to match rivals, presenting a disadvantageous situation. Despite similar times within the group, trainer and jockey are confident, adding extra work before entering the gate, but chances appear slim.
