On March 7th, this horse recorded a dirt trial over 1200m at Conghua finishing second following the leaders with a controlled pace. On June 23rd, a turf trial over 1000m saw him settle towards the rear and track the pace steadily. Five weeks ago in its last run over the same distance, performance was poor; it settled in a good position tracking the leaders but lacked a finishing surge, beaten three and a half lengths. Two barrier trials have been undertaken without showing significant improvement. This time carrying a one-pound deduction, finishing kick is a concern and the horse’s form is unfavorable, with a less harmonious trainer/jockey relationship. However, the overall timing of this group isn't bad allowing for a good position behind the leaders. The jockey change to Alexis Badel is notable; he understands the horse’s temperament well and shouldn't be discounted.
