In a subsequent trial over 1400m on the turf, he races this time without any additional weight, posting the fastest time amongst his group. The strategy is to settle back early and rely on a strong finishing kick – which appears to be superior to other contenders in the field. Overall, he possesses a clear advantage in terms of ability compared to his rivals. Derek Leung takes the ride, demonstrating understanding of the horse's temperament; pre-race work has been good despite drawing an outside barrier, though trainer/jockey compatibility is less ideal.
