Six weeks ago, this horse performed poorly over the same distance, with a slow start and settling towards the rear. It showed some mid-race effort but faded badly in the finish. This time it has a one-pound weight reduction, having previously won twice at this course and distance; its trial times are reasonable. The plan is to settle back again, relying on a strong finishing kick – which is its strongest asset compared to rivals. Despite adequate preparation and an unfavorable outside barrier draw, it's still worth considering.
