Two weeks ago, over Sha Tin 1400m, the performance was adequate, settling in a good position tracking the leaders, accelerating in the middle stages but failing to sustain it to the finish. He finished fifth, beaten one and a half lengths. Moving up in class this time, he’ll be tried over 1600m on the turf again with an 18lb weight reduction. The times of horses in the same group look good, drawing an advantageous inside barrier, trainer and jockey seem to have a strong understanding and are doing everything right, but needs to be held up for a late run which may not suit given his current finishing kick isn’t as strong as rivals, looking unfavourable at present and a slow start is expected.
